PETER CHEUNG

Born in Hong Kong and now residing in Burlington, Ontario, Peter Cheung is a dynamic Canadian Artist.
Cheung’s journey into the world of art began under the tutelage of a renowned Chinese painting master,
where he honed his skills in the delicate art of ink and water painting. Over time, he seamlessly
integrated the swift and robust brushwork of Chinese painting into his western oils and watercolours,
creating an aesthetic unique to him.
He believes that good art should allow the viewer to look ‘into’ it rather than just ‘at’ it. This philosophy is
a fundamental part of his artistic approach. Cheung’s work is designed to create a connection with the
viewer, allowing them to experience the energy, life force, and movement encapsulated within each
piece. Cheung is a highly acclaimed artist known for his diverse portfolio, including textbook illustrations
and engaging public painting classes. His work showcases exceptional versatility.
